As businesses have returned to work following the COVID 19 pandemic restrictions, it is critical that they consider what new working practises they require in order to minimise the risks to their staff, visitors and clients. In House Safety can help you do this.
Whilst the COVID 19 vaccine is now widely available, the virus still remains a threat to our health & safety. The Government has made it clear through its Agencies that all businesses will need to operate using a number of different safety processes. Therefore, all businesses need to consider how they can be “Safe to Open” in the Retail, Hospitality or Education sectors or “Safe to Work” in all other sectors.
The pandemic and subsequent “Lockdown” of the country caused all businesses to either stop work completely or to change how we work on a day to day basis. The Governments furlough scheme allowed most businesses a lifeline in order to survive. With this scheme now ended, it is vitality important that all businesses consider how they can safely produce their products or provide their services to the wider public.
Some organisations have discovered that the new ways of working have not had a detrimental effect on their abilities to operate, but others have struggled to adapt their workplaces and find solutions to their particular situation whilst trying to get the job done. This danger is likely to increase as more organisations have to returned to their normal ways of working. Therefore, a COVID 19 Risk Assessment is the first step to identify what procedures and adaptions to the workplace are required to minimise the risk and keep people safe.
To properly identify what are the most effective health and safety controls at your own workplace, a safe to Work Risk Assessment (or Safe To Open Risk Assessment) should be completed. Workable solutions for businesses do exist, though some have good intentions but are not implemented effectively. Simply having a protocol is not sufficient, it has to be implemented effectively. This is where we can help.
