Hazel has been part of the In House team since 1996. Her main role is to provide food safety and health and safety support to our customers – which includes schools, restaurants, contract caterers, university dining, hotels and hospital catering. She carries out audits and inspections, develops policies and procedures, and delivers hygiene and safety training.
“I enjoy the variety of my role – one day I’ll be talking about health & safety issues in a school, the next day I’ll be auditing a fine dining restaurant, and then I’ll be reviewing HACCP plans for a hospital or training staff in allergy awareness. I like being able to help people – that’s what it is all about”.
Hazel tries to be clear in her communication, and help her clients to cut through some of the confusion which they can feel about rules and regulations. She is very approachable, and thinks of her role as your ‘critical friend’ – always friendly but offering advice when needed to help you to improve, or help you to find solutions for the safety and hygiene challenges you may face.
Out of work time, you’ll most likely find Hazel at her local lake, where she is a semi-obsessed slalom water skier. Otherwise she’ll be hanging around in her garden with her rescue hens.
